Updated: Jun 12, 2020

Captain Buehn fought for this country and he knows Kat will in Washington.

Gainesville, FL - Building on a consistent and steady momentum of local and national endorsements, Kat Cammack, the Constitutional conservative candidate for Congress in FL-03, has landed an endorsement from former Naval Captain Robert (Bob) Buehn.

Captain Buehn is a career military officer who has served tours at all Jacksonville Navy bases totaling 15 years (Jacksonville Naval Air Station, Mayport Naval Station and Cecil Field). Buehn has most recently served as the Commanding Officer of the Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility at Jacksonville Naval Air Station. He has also served in other leadership positions including Chief of Staff of the Cruiser-Destroyer Group 12 at Mayport Naval Station; Commanding Officer of the U.S. Naval Base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; and Commanding Officer, VS-32, at NAS Cecil Field. In addition, his career includes extensive experience in aviation operations, teaching, communications and writing.

Buehn earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Florida and a master's degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College. Today, Captain Buehn is the Director of the University of North Florida Military and Veterans Resource Center. He is also the Military & Veterans Liaison of Veterans United Brewing.

Captain Bob Buehn gave the following statement:

"I have known Kat for years and I am honored to support her in her run for Florida's Third Congressional District. She is a strong advocate for the veteran community, a gifted communicator and an effective leader. As an alumnus of the Naval War College and a member of the Navy League, Kat is also knowledgeable regarding national security and military issues. I know that Kat holds the veteran community close to her heart and I’m confident that she will take care of us as our next Congresswoman."

Cammack gave the following statement in response to the endorsement:

"I am honored to receive the support of Captain Buehn in my run for Congress. I had the pleasure of learning under him as my professor at the United States Naval War College as I pursued my degree in National Defense and Strategic Studies. Captain Buehn chose to give his life to protecting the freedom of the American people. There is no greater sacrafice. Captain Buehn has taught and inspired me far beyond the classroom and I look forward to representing remarkable veterans like him in Washington."

On a National level, Kat has earned support from conservatives such as U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R, KY), "We Build the Wall" founder, Brian Kolfage, and the Tea Party Express.
