Kat Cammack Calls For Planned Parenthood to Return Coronavirus Stimulus Funds

"Bolstering politically-motivated, large-scale firms such as Planned Parenthood was never the intention of this program or an initiative that would be supported by a vast number of Americans."

Gainesville, FL- Kat Cammack, candidate for Congress in Florida's Third Congressional District, is calling for Planned Parenthood to return the $80 million in loans they received from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). The Small Business Administration is also urging the affiliates of Planned Parenthood to return the money, given that they should have been aware that they were not eligible for stimulus payouts. The Small Business Administration will be requesting the funds be returned in compliance with SBA's affiliation standards. Criminal or civil sanctions are possible for organizations who provide false or incorrect eligibility certificates.

According to an article published by Fox News, "the largest government loan given to a single Planned Parenthood affiliate was $7.5 million to the Orange and San Bernardino Counties in California."

Kat Cammack gave the following statement:

"I call upon Planned Parenthood to return the coronavirus stimulus money they robbed from the Small Business Administration, in turn the American people. In addition to the fact that taxpayer money should not be going to fund Planned Parenthood, these funds were meant for small businesses, not multi-million dollar corporations. I commend the Small Business Administration for requesting the funds be returned from the Planned Parenthood affiliates and therefore, protecting the integrity of the Payroll Protection Program.

"President Donald Trump has worked diligently to save small businesses, which are the backbone of the country. Bolstering politically-motivated, large-scale firms such as Planned Parenthood was never the intention of this program or an initiative that would be supported by a vast number of Americans. Planned Parenthood refused to cease operation during the pandemic, after direct instruction to close, and claimed a record number of abortions during this time. This is a gross overstep on the part of Planned Parenthood and I am continually appalled by their abuse of power."
