Marion County Professional Firefighters throw their support behind Kat Cammack in FL-03

Fourth straight department to endorse Kat Cammack

Marion County joins the Professional Firefighters of Gainesville, Palatka, and Alachua in supporting her campaign for Congress

Gainesville, FL - Kat Cammack, the Constitutional conservative candidate for Congress in FL-03, is announcing that the Professional Firefighters of Marion County have endorsed her campaign for Congress.

The Professional Firefighters of Marion County is the fourth department to endorse her campaign.

The Professional Firefighters of Alachua County, the Professional Firefighters of Gainesville, and the Professional Firefighters of Palatka have all previously announced their support.

The Professional Firefighters of Marion County is an association representing the Firefighters, EMT's and Paramedics serving the citizens of Marion County.

Daniel D. Garcia, President of the Professional Firefighters of Marion County, Local 3169 gave the following statement:

"The Professional Firefighters of Marion County are pleased to extend to our full endorsement of Kat Cammack’s candidacy for Florida’s 3rd Congressional District.

As the wife of a local first responder, her passionate advocacy of first responders and their families is clear. The recent Covid-19 outbreak clearly demonstrates that first responders’ duty to serve and protect our citizens puts us and our families at immediate risk. First responders accept the risks associated with servicing our communities and only ask of our elected officials that they support us to that end. Kat has shown throughout your career of public service that you do.

Her co-founding of the GRIT Foundation is one example of her commitment to first responders. The GRIT Foundation’s sole purpose is to generate community-based support for local first responders and our hometown heroes. This support cannot be understated during the crisis we currently face. 

Kat served for nearly a decade as Congressman Ted Yoho’s Deputy Chief of Staff. In that capacity, she navigated the federal government and collaborated with federal agencies in advocacy of first responders’ needs. This has not gone unnoticed by us in Marion County, Florida.

Because of her support of the citizens of Marion County and the first responders who have sworn to protect them, the Professional Firefighters of Marion County offer her any support you need to ensure the success of her candidacy and her election to Florida’s 3rd Congressional District," Garcia concluded.

Kat Cammack, candidate for Congress, responded by saying:

"I am truly honored to have the support of the Professional Firefighters of Marion County in our campaign for Congress. As the wife of a first responder, their support, in addition to endorsements from the Professional Firefighters of Gainesville, Palatka, and Alachua, mean a great deal to me.

"Through my work in Congressman Ted Yoho's office and my efforts with the GRIT Foundation, I have always focused on what we can do to help those who are on the front lines in our own communities. I have gotten to know the members of these departments over the years and I know them to be conservative, hard working, hometown heroes. If I am given the privilege of representing our district, I will proudly fight for them in Congress."
