National Association of Home Builders Endorses Kat Cammack for Congress

Gainesville, FL - Kat Cammack, Republican Nominee for Congress in Florida's Third Congressional District, is announcing the endorsement of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

The National Association of Home Builders is a Washington-based trade association representing more than 140,000 members involved in home building, remodeling, multifamily construction, property management, subcontracting, design, housing finance, building product manufacturing and other aspects of residential and light commercial construction. NAHB is affiliated with 700 state and local home builders associations around the country. NAHB’s builder members will construct about 80 percent of the new building units projected for this year.

In a letter to Cammack's campaign, NAHB gave the following statement:

"The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) today endorsed Florida Republican candidate Kat Cammack for election to Congress.

“Kat Cammack believes that housing is critical to a strong and prosperous nation. As a small business owner, she understands how excessive regulations can increase housing costs and harm small businesses, which serve as the backbone of our economy,” said NAHB Chairman Chuck Fowke, a custom home builder from Tampa, Fla.

Housing is important to local, state, and national economies and accounts for about 15 percent of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product. NAHB believes in this critical election year that it is important to elect pro-housing, pro-business candidates to Congress to ensure that housing and the economy move forward.

“We are proud to endorse Kat Cammack for election to Congress because she supports policies that will allow home builders to provide more safe and affordable housing for hardworking American families.”

New home construction is an engine for job creation. On average workers from 22 fields are needed to build a home. Constructing 100 single-family homes creates nearly 300 full-time jobs and $11.1 million in fees and taxes for all levels of government to help fund schools, roads, police, and firefighters."

Kat Cammack gave the following statement in response:

“I am proud to have received the endorsement of the National Association of Home Builders. Building homes across the Nation is an integral part of a strong economy and strong families. I look forward to continuing my partnership with builders and facilitating housing for Americans."

Kat Cammack is a small business owner, a proud wife to a first responder, an alumna of the United States Naval War College, and the longtime former Deputy Chief of Staff to the District.
